What is Havening?
Havening is a gentle and safe therapy that uses physical touch, distractions and redirection to remove trauma and negative feelings from the psyche and the body. It also helps to create new neural pathways so that once you have cleared the issue you can more forwards in a more positive way.
It’s a really good self help tool and you will learn how to use it on yourself so that you can deal with issues as they occur.
What happens during a session?
Using SUDs levels (subjective units of distress) to monitor the intensity of the issue, I use a variety of different Havening techniques to change how you think and feel about an issue. I will get you to apply Havening touch throughout the process, which is very soothing and relaxing and helps support emotional regulation.
The session starts with acknowledging where you are right now with your issue and then we move through it, releasing it and helping you to come up with new and creative ways of seeing things differently.
What can Havening be used for?
You can work on anything with Havening, including behaviours, feelings, emotions, stress, insomnia, relationships, limiting beliefs, self worth issues, performance issues, addictions and physical issues. It is also particularly good for cleaning traumas.
I like to use it alongside EFT to help clients identify and change negative and unhelpful childhood programming, understand emotional triggers and blocks, uncover problematic thought patterns and beliefs and clear past traumas.
How many sessions will I need?
Some issues clear really quickly but others can take longer as they can be part of a much bigger underlying pattern. I would usually recommend booking a block of four sessions but, if you would prefer to book just a single session, that is fine too.
